Vibrant Memory IV

This ceramic sound sculpture invites you to engage in a tactile and auditory experience. Suspended by a steel cable, its white, perforated form resembles a delicate marine skeleton. Adorned with tiny black ceramic droplets, each hanging by fine steel wires, the piece responds to the gentlest touch or breeze, setting off subtle vibrations that animate the sculpture. When caressed, these elements produce an immersive sound that fills the space, creating a lasting sense of connection.

The creation of this sculpture reflects a deep bond between the artist and their work. Throughout its development, a continuous dialogue unfolds, where attentive listening, meticulous care, and managing the natural tensions of shaping and drying become a shared dance. This profound interaction breathes life into the piece, as if it possesses its own soul.

The artist's aim is to extend this intimacy beyond the moment of creation. Through touch and sound, an enduring connection forms between the sculpture and the observer, keeping the creative act alive and offering an experience that transcends time and space.

This work is not just an aesthetic object; it's an invitation to reflect on the nature of art, human interaction, and the timelessness of creation.

The piece was a finalist in the XIII Biennal Internacional de Ceràmica del Vendrell 2024.

Visuals and video were created by Jordi Calvet, with sound editing by Joan Miró. All audio was exclusively derived from recordings of the sculpture's own sounds.
